SETTLED CONCRETE, RISKS
TRIPPING YOUR FEET!
We’ve all been there; carrying in a big bag of groceries, skateboarding across the sidewalk, or even just taking a walk through the neighborhood, lost in thought, when – BAM! You’re on the ground before you know what hit you, and so is everything you held or carried. But what happened? Well, more often than not, you’d have just tripped because of an uneven concrete surface. And it gets worse! Now, not only do you have to pick yourself up, banged and bruised, but are still left with the same hazard! Moreover, it’s not just about the risk of falling; sunken or settled concrete surfaces can cause water drainage issues or further damage to the concrete, all the while being, frankly, a community eyesore. Instead of relying on a mindful step and precise mental map of where and when to tread more carefully, you can turn to concrete lifting. Concrete lifting can repair uneven concrete surfaces, returning their aesthetics and functionality without needing comprehensive repairs or replacements.
WHAT EXACTLY IS CONCRETE LIFTING?
Concrete lifting, or concrete leveling, is a process in which the position of concrete slabs are returned to the correct height by injecting one or more materials underneath it. These materials fill any gaps, and force the concrete upwards until it reaches the desired height; typically level and flush with adjacent surfaces. The material later cures and solidifies, resulting in a durable, long-lasting, and most importantly, stable new foundation. In practice, the process is as straightforward as it sounds; first, holes are strategically drilled into the concrete to allow the entrance of lifting materials at the most productive points for effective lifting. With the holes drilled, lifting material is pumped underneath the concrete, and the holes are then patched during a brief drying or curing time. The result is safer, more aesthetic concrete that’s better prepared to stand the test of time, and to keep you standing too!
WHY OPT FOR CONCRETE LIFTING?
Concrete lifting is but one of many different concrete repair options, so why should you choose it over the others? Well, firstly, concrete lifting is highly affordable, especially compared to replacement projects or more comprehensive repairs. There’s no need to pay for hours and hours of manual labor, and the materials are relatively inexpensive and easy to come by. Moreover, concrete lifting is more sustainable, as not only does it make continued use of the same concrete, but in doing so avoids consuming additional concrete as in often superfluous removal projects. So, cost-effective and sustainable, sure, but what about easy or convenient? Unlike repairing or constructing with concrete that takes up to several weeks to cure, concrete lifting leaves surfaces ready for use within a few hours or less. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a stickler for the perfect driveway and only need a slight adjustment, or your concrete slabs have fallen into Hades and need to be brought back to this mortal coil! Concrete lifting is the ultimate repair solution for rehabilitating sunken or settled surfaces, and you need only to decide which method is right for you *Cough Cough* Polyurethane Spray Foam.
POLYURETHANE SPRAY
FOAM CONCRETE LIFTING
Concrete lifting is actually a general term that refers to any of the available lifting methods, which primarily include stone slurry grout concrete leveling, mudjacking, and polyurethane spray foam concrete lifting. These first two methods are indeed effective, but suffer from several major drawbacks. Namely, both require using large quantities of heavy materials, like soil, sand, water, and limestone. This not only complicates the lifting process, but also makes preparing for a project more costly and time-intensive. Moreover, both methods also use numerous different materials and may still require the addition of cements or other strengtheners. Compared to polyurethane spray foam concrete lifting, both methods fall far short. Polyurethane spray foam is composed of a simple two-component system, requiring only modest high-pressure spray equipment and relatively small volumes of reagent materials. This makes polyurethane spray foam concrete lifting easier, cheaper, safer, and more effective than alternative approaches, and the ultimate solution for concrete repair.

FAQ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Asking if concrete lifting is better than concrete repair, is like asking if vehicles with wings are the best airplanes! Concrete lifting is itself a type of concrete repair, and in fact, it’s one of the best options available. It’s quicker, easier, and more cost-effective than alternative methods or outright replacement, seeing use in homes and cities across the world.
With proper application, concrete lifting with polyurethane spray foam can last for the entirety of the concrete’s lifetime. However, some projects may require different or additional solutions that address a persistent cause of concrete shifting in the first place, and improper maintenance may also risk the lifetime of the concrete lifting.
There are a few different types of concrete lifting, but none compare to lifting with polyurethane spray foam. Unlike when using stone slurry grout or mudjacking that require large quantities of heavy materials like sand, soil, and water, polyurethane spray foam is safer, lighter, and less labor-intensive. Spray foam lifting is in our view, the best method of concrete lifting, bar none.
