SETTLED CONCRETE, RISKS
TRIPPING YOUR FEET!
We’ve all been there; carrying in a big bag of groceries, skateboarding across the sidewalk, or even just taking a walk through the neighborhood, lost in thought, when – BAM! You’re on the ground before you know what hit you, and so is everything you held or carried. But what happened? Well, more often than not, you’d have just tripped because of an uneven concrete surface. And it gets worse! Now, not only do you have to pick yourself up, banged and bruised, but are still left with the same hazard! Moreover, it’s not just about the risk of falling; sunken or settled concrete surfaces can cause water drainage issues or further damage to the concrete, all the while being, frankly, a community eyesore. Instead of relying on a mindful step and precise mental map of where and when to tread more carefully, you can turn to concrete lifting. Concrete lifting can repair uneven concrete surfaces, returning their aesthetics and functionality without needing comprehensive repairs or replacements.
WHAT EXACTLY IS CONCRETE LIFTING?
Concrete lifting, or concrete leveling, is a process in which the position of concrete slabs are returned to the correct height by injecting one or more materials underneath it. These materials fill any gaps, and force the concrete upwards until it reaches the desired height; typically level and flush with adjacent surfaces. The material later cures and solidifies, resulting in a durable, long-lasting, and most importantly, stable new foundation. In practice, the process is as straightforward as it sounds; first, holes are strategically drilled into the concrete to allow the entrance of lifting materials at the most productive points for effective lifting. With the holes drilled, lifting material is pumped underneath the concrete, and the holes are then patched during a brief drying or curing time. The result is safer, more aesthetic concrete that’s better prepared to stand the test of time, and to keep you standing too!
